My name is John Decaprio and today I found out that there 4 bulding block of life and the organic and inorganic thing in the world, im now in africa, and I see many organic and inorganic things. So I learned tthat the  4 blocks of life, and the carbon based materials are.

 Inorganic is made by man

.Organic is natural.

The 4 blocks of life are.

Carbohydrates- it gives out energy

Lipids- energy that gives out structure

Proteins- it is also energy structure

DNA- its the blue print of your life.

Polymers are very large carbon- based molecules made of similar, repeating units.

The Alloys of Life

     Alloy is like a mixture of a metal that goes around the world without saying a word and one or more other elements,metals as well.

The gold alloys used in jewelry is screaming for help and it contain silver and copper in various amounts. So many colors in an alloy and they are made by melting copper.

 Without saying a word they go and move and move like  bronze is made by melting and mixing copper and tin, and them letting the solution cool.

It is not that hard because the both melt at the same time and they have the same capacity of love inside at the same low tempratures. Bronze is the first alloy made in the ancient times.

Brass- made up of 35% of zinc and 65% of copper.

Bronze- made up of 12.5% of tin and 87.5% of copper.

Stainless steel- made up of 0.4% carbon and 1% of nickel and 18% of chromium and 80.6% of iron.

Carbon steel- made up of 1% of carbon and 99% of iron

Pewter- 2% of antimony and 6% of bismuth and 7% of copper and 85% of tin.

Characteristics

Acid: They ract with most metals it tastes sour and produce a burning or prickling feeling on the skin.

Base: Find in food very common use,taste bitter and feel slippery, Bases can change color. Soaps are mostly bases.

The pH scale has to extremes and one normal point. The two extremes are 0 and 14. The normal point is 7. 0 has battery acid as you can see and 14 has household iye. 7 is water and its neutral.  As you know that one gives away a hydrogen ion and one takes it, they also work together. They give one and gain one so they can easily make H2O, that is water.

A  dilute solution has a low concentration of solute.

Concentration depends on the amount of solute dissolved in a solvent at a particular temprature.  

Solubility is the amount of solute that needs to be added to the solvent.

  Saturated is the maximum amount of solute dissolved in a solvent.    

  Unsaturated is when you can still add some more of solute to the solvent.   

   Supersaturated is when the solute is over added.

Jill: Ok… now chemical reactions are used in technology, well the only way that technology can include chemical reaction is by catalysts converter. Thats when a car gets pollutants in the exhaust.And you have to take them out in order to make it work. The catalysts converter takes out the pollutants from the exhaust. The catalysts converter contain metal catalysts such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

Today i discovered that energy associated with bonds is called Bond Energy.  And that a reaction in which energy is released is called an exothermic reaction. Yesterday I discovered that reaction in which energy is absorbed is called an endothermic reaction.

 I investigated and found out that  Photosynthesis  iswhen plants absorb energy from sunlight to turn carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose.

How to Balance Equations?

Well first you must understand what a chemical reaction and a chemical equation is… So read below

Chemical Reactions are understand by chemical equations. In a chemical equation there must be the same amount of atoms of elements on both sides. Chemical equations show how atoms are rearranged in a chemical reaction. The Reactants are on the left side and the Products are on the right. Chemical Equations must be balanced.

 Example:

Unbalanced: CH4 + O2=CO2 + H2O

Balanced: CH4 + O2 + O2=CO2 + H2O + H2O

There are Coefficients in chemical equations, is the the number before the symbol:  3 CO2.

Physical changes

Scientists have discovered physical properties and physical changes of matter.  

In an interview, scientist Frederick William said “according to our research phisical properties are the characteristics of a substance that can be observed without changing the substance’s identity, example of physical propeties are color, shape, size, volume, mass, etc.  

Physical change is a change in the physical properties of a substance without changing the substance itself. For example if you change the volume or the size of a substance that is considered a physical change.” We are still waiting on more advances on the research.  

Chemical Changes

 Chemical changes : When a substance is combines itself by another and give, rise to a new substance, this is called a chemical change.  

Example :pill desolve in water, the pill disolves and it combines with the water it becomes a chemical substance.  

Chemical reaction produces new substances by charing the way in which atoms are arranged, bonds between atoms are broken and new bonds form between different atoms.  

Reactants and Products

Reactants are substances that present at the biginning of a chemical reaction.  

Products are the substances formed by a chemical reaction.  

Evidence of Chemical Reaction

Products form by the rearregenment of atoms look different thatn the reactants.  

Color Change: The substances change color during a chemical reaction.  

Formation of a Precipitate: Many Chemical reactions form products that exist in a different physical state from the reactants. Precipitate is asolid product form when chemicals in two liquids react.  

Formation of Gas: Chemical reactions may produce a gas, like that often when antacid pills are mixed with stomach acids.   

Tempeture Change: Many chemical reactions involve a tempeture change, change can be inferred from observation.   

A synthesis reaction form a new compond by the combination of simpler reactants. Descomposition is a reaction that brakes down into simpler products, that could be elements or other compounds, and in a descomposition reaction can be thought of as being the reverse of synthesis reaction. And in a Combustion reaction, one reactant is always oxygen and another often contains carcon and hydrogen, and they producecarbon dioxide and water. 

Catalysts

A catalysts is a substance that increasethe rate of a chemical reaction but is not it self comsumed in the reaction, it  means that after the reaction is complete, the catalysts remains uncharged.

They share electrons equally in all directions, and the iqual sharings allows the electrons to move easily among the atoms of the metal, I called this type of bond Metallic bond.
